My first memory of my Aunt Doreen was when packages would come in the mail at Christmas time. I received a book of fairytales from her that is probably 70 years old now. I treasured that book. I looked at every page every story. It is now brown on the edges and fragile, , but I loved that book. I also remember when I brought my children And my husband to England and we had our eleven”s on the lawn. Auntie Doreen.gave us cookies and tea and it was so memorable because of where I was and the experience. She became the matriarch of the family outliving Joyce, her sister and my mom Marion, her cousin. But the three always considered themselves to be sisters. My mother‘s life with Doreen and Joyce was intertwined in my life as she told me tales of all of the dances and adventures. Aunt Doreen was a happy person. She was always laughing and easy-going. God bless her and her surviving members of the family, especially Julie.. Stephanie Anderson.
